The Pros and Cons of Home Security
A recent study on home burglaries and crimes has indicated that more than two million home burglaries are reported in the United States every year and on average there is a burglary every thirteen seconds. It means that there are about four burglaries a minute, two hundred and forty an hour and as much as six thousand every day.
Contrary to popular belief, these home burglaries are most common during daylight hours when the residents of the house are at work or school. Therefore home owners and renters both need to consider these statistics for the purpose of protecting their families and possessions. These statistics can be cut short dramatically, if the residents of the house chose to invest in a security system. Statistics indicate that only 17% of the United States residents have invested in a home security system. With the current increase in crime rate, it is important for people to decide if they should invest in a security system or not.
A study conducted by Electronics Security Association showed that nine out of ten burglars said that if they encountered a house with a security system then they would not attack that house. So the most important reason of investing in a security reason is deterring crime from your house. Because you need more than just the window locks and deadbolts on doors to keep these intruders away and a security system is the best option of keeping your home safe because statistics show that homes without security systems are three times more likely to get robbed as compared to those that do.
